Nourishing the Feminine: An Exploration in Female Health and Fertility

Come join us for a fun evening all about you, your body and your health according to Chinese medicine! We will explore the concepts of Qi, Meridians, Yin/Yang, and Acupuncture as they pertain to Women’s health, Fertility, Pregnancy, Postpartum and beyond.

A women’s body goes through many cycles and transformations in a lifetime, from adolescence, to motherhood and into mature age.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine have been supporting women’s health for over 2000 years, addressing issues such as PMS, stress, depression, anxiety, painful menses, irregular menstrual cycle, fertility, breast health, pregnancy related conditions, post partum and menopause.

Inspired by Chinese folk wisdom, you will learn basic, easy to follow self-care practices to nourish and heal yourself from the inside out.

The evening will be held by Acupuncturist, Sivan Dirks.

Sivan is a Licensed Acupuncturist with the Oregon Medical Board and is Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture by NCCAOM. She earned her Master's Degree in Acupuncture at Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York, NY. After graduation, Sivan completed an internship at Tri-State and became a Faculty Assistant, teaching clinical practice.

Through her own personal journey of becoming a mom, Sivan found herself drawn to the subject of women’s health, fertility, pregnancy and postpartum. She feels passionate about sharing this beautiful, safe and effective ancient wisdom with others and offering women support through all phases of life.

Before moving to Oregon, she practiced in New York both as a private practitioner and as a team member at a community acupuncture clinic.

As an acupuncturist, Sivan aspires to treat the whole individual (physically, emotionally and energetically) and empower people to take an active role in their healing process. She believes that the body and mind are inextricably linked, and mutually influence and support each other. Through acupuncture, qigong and other Eastern modalities she hopes to create balance and harmony for health promotion and preservation.

Currently, Sivan works at Portland Healing Space where she treats people from all walks of life and has a particular interest in Women’s health and pediatrics. She also leads The Community Healing Project, which is a group acupuncture combined with qigong session.
