Come join us on Saturday, December 2 at 10:30 AM, for a delightful Yule celebration and craft activity hosted by local authors Kathleen Converse and Ariel Kusby!
Get ready to be welcomed with warm and cozy hot cocoa potions as we dive into a conversation about the magical significance of Yule and the Winter Solstice. Kathleen and Ariel, both enchanting personalities, will share their cherished ways to celebrate the longest night and guide us through a group spell to conjure light and warmth.
But that's not all! We'll also embark on a creative journey to make our very own "witch bottle" ornaments, infusing them with our unique magic. Each attendee will leave with a special enchanted Yule decoration to add a touch of magic to their homes!
Now, let's meet the wonderful authors behind this magical event:
Kathleen Converse is not only an eclectic witch but also a therapist based in the vibrant city of Portland. With a background as a former elementary school teacher and a Master's in Social Work, Kathleen is passionate about nurturing magical children and helping adults rediscover their inner child. Don't miss her enchanting picture book series, "The Wheel of The Year," featuring the Yule-inspired "Luke and the Longest Night," published by Moon Dust Press.
Ariel Kusby, a witch and bookseller, brings a touch of magic to children's literature. Drawing inspiration from daydreaming, imaginative play, and the wonders of nature, Ariel's creations are sure to captivate. Her spellbinding book, "The Little Witch's Book of Spells," was published by Chronicle Books in 2020, and keep an eye out for her upcoming divination deck, "The Little Witch's Oracle Deck," scheduled for release in 2024. Ariel shares her home in Portland with the delightful velvet-soft rabbit named Poppy.
